Perseverance leads to success

MR VISHNU VARSHNEY

Mr Vishnu Varshney, CEO of Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd (GVFL), is an Electrical Engineer from IIT Kanpur, and has also done his an MS and MBA from Louisiana State University, US.

He has played a crucial role in bringing venture capital industry of age in the country. Here's his take on four questions from Business Line:

What my education/training taught me.

My academic training has taught me that an individual should have an all-round development and be ready for a lot of hard work through sincere efforts.

What I learnt from my work/real life.

If an individual has perseverance and works honestly without losing faith, success is assured.

One quality I look for the most in a new recruit.

Honesty.

A book that I read recently

Tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom. It's an emotional book about courage, love, compassion, forgiveness and death. This book shares inspiring lessons of life through several conversations between a dying professor and his student.
