Help others realise their potential

Mr Soumya Banerjee

Mr Soumya Banerjee is the Managing Director of Sapient Corporation. He is responsible for leading Sapient's global delivery capabilities in India.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Mumbai University (India), and a Master's degree in computer science from the University of Houston. Here's his take on four questions from Business Line:

Two things that my education/training taught me:

Studying in India has taught me the importance of having rigour and a disciplined approach to problem-solving.

Studying for my Master's degree in Houston taught me the value of discussion and sharing of diverse viewpoints to come up with a stronger solution.

Two things I learnt from my work/real life:

To constantly grow as a leader and help others realise their potential.

To strive towards adding value and creating an impact in everything you do.

Qualities I look for the most in a new recruit:

Learn fast, challenge status quo, be open and ask the right questions.

A book that I read recently:

Reread the Fifth Discipline Fieldbook: Strategies for Building a Learning Organization, by Peter Senge.
