New experiences are educating

Sandhya

Sandhya is an up and coming actress. She won the Filmfare Best Actress award (South India) for her debut film Kaadhal (2004). She has acted in films such as Alice in Wonderland (Malayalam, 2005), Dishyum (2006) and Vallavan (2006). Her future projects include Selvaraghavan's Idhu Malai Nerathu Mayakkam, Seenu Ramaswamy's Koodal Nagar and Raja's Manjal Veiyil. Here's her take on a few questions from Business Line:

Two values that I believe in:

I believe in being constantly happy and facing problems with a smile.

Honesty is always a good thing.

Two things that I detest:

I hate people shouting at me. I just can't take it!

I dislike getting into arguments.

Entertainment versus education:

Both are necessary. However, I feel it is not always possible to devote undivided attention to either education or entertainment. New experiences are always educating. Acting has taught me so many things. Education stimulates the mind, entertainment helps it relax.

My dream project:

I don't have any particular `dream' project. I would love to do a lot of films, work with all the top directors and actors. I want to opt for the best roles. For instance, a character along the lines of Sonia Agarwal's in 7/G Rainbow Colony (2004) would be nice.

As told to Raj Menon
