Human Resources A project manager at crossroads
I am a Project Manager in a leading software company. in charge of ERP implementation. Basically I am a Mechanical Engineer with about 10 years experience. After working in a light engineering industry for four years, I switched to the software industry. I started as a team member, and after a three-year stint as Team Leader, I was made the Project Manager of mid-size ERP Projects. Please advise what I should do to accelerate my career growth. R. Venkatesh Being in mid-thirties, your concern about further career growth is quite understandable. You have been well exposed to the delivery side of IT Projects. In my view to leverage further your career growth, you can do an MBA programme from a reputed B-School. Considering the various factors like your background, time involved, opportunity cost, quality of the programme, faculty profile, placement track record, I would suggest that you can try for the Post Graduate Programme of the Indian School of Business (ISB) at Hyderabad. Full details about the course and the Institution are available in http://www.isb.edu. In my view you can specialise in systems/marketing domains.
