Woes of a BPO executive

I am a chemical engineer working in a BPO outfit for the past one year as customer-support executive, dealing mainly with overseas customers.

I find the job monotonous and stressful. I am desperate to get into frontline software development. What should I do?

N. Sharma

Consider the positive aspects of your job. Your exposure to overseas customers is really useful, as it gives you the opportunity to improve your relationship skills.

But now that you have set your mind to move to the software development domain, you need to look at developing specialised software skills in potential areas.

I suggest that you do an advanced accelerated course in J2EE from a reputed training institute.

To find your place in software development, doing good, real-time projects in the Java environment will help. You need to put in considerable effort to shine well as a programmer.
