Mentor - Education
Stay focused on your core competence

I am in my final semester of MBA (HR), which I am pursuing through correspondence. Recently, I heard about the NCFM (NSE's Certification in Financial Markets) programme. Will this course improve my job prospects?

As you are about to complete your MBA, you probably would have charted your career roadmap. You should try to leverage on your HR skills and get a suitable placement in a good organisation.

NCFM is in the finance domain, focused on the procedural aspects of conducting various transactions in the NSDL depository system. NSDL has made it mandatory for all branches of depository participants to have at least one person qualified in the certification programme. This is an online test.

I would advise you to stay focused on your core competence, prepare well and concentrate on picking up a job in the HR domain.

You may consider NCFM if you want to have practical knowledge about the financial markets and are going to work in that sector.
