Education Focus on what you are doing currently
I am a mechanical engineer with no work experience. At present, I am in the first year of MBA (HR). Please advise regarding any course or membership programme that will add value to my MBA. S. Karthick I advise that you first focus on MBA and try to make best use of the opportunity that you currently have on hand. You have to demonstrate your academic credentials. Additionally, you have to pick up soft skills too. You can add more weightage to your CV by doing a summer project from a reputed organisation, and participating in seminars/contests. In case you are interested in combining your HR knowledge with information technology, I suggest you go in for a certification in mySAP HR from a recognised institute. This will help you in starting your career as an entry-level HR consultant in a software organisation which implements mySAP. You can get details about mySAP certification directly from the SAP Education Partners and then take a decision on this. The details are available in http://www.sap.com/asia/services/education/centres/ partners.epx.
