Two things that my education/training taught me:

`Basics' do matter. The most important things I learnt were also the most basic — learning how to think and how to communicate.

Two things I learnt from my work/real life:

Leadership skills are learnt. Experience and success breed confidence in one's beliefs and the willingness to take a stand on issues before others are willing to do the same.

Equally important was early failure and knowing that one can bounce back.

One quality I look for the most in a new recruit:

I actually look for two attributes — smarts and attitude.
