‘Learning comes from failure’

Mr Ajay Shankar Sharma

Mr Ajay Shankar Sharma is co-founder and CEO, Srishti Software. An industry veteran, Mr Ajay Shankar is a Bachelor in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT, Tiruchi.

Mr Shankar co-founded Srishti in 1997 with a simple vision — to build an organisation on a foundation of values, quality, and innovation. Active in Nasscom, he is also the founder-member of the Association’s Product Forum started in 2003. Here’s his take on four questions from Business Line:

Two things that my education/ training taught me:

Being perceptive.

Value of leadership

Two things I learnt from my work/real life:

Success brings laurels but learning comes through failure.

Perseverance makes the difference.

One quality I look for the most in a new recruit:

Initiative.

A book I read recently:

Bangalore Tiger, by Steve Hamm, which gives an in-depth view of the making of Wipro.
