Mr Vivek Tawar is Managing Director, Nitco Tiles. His foresight and strategic skills has enabled Nitco Tiles to become a leading brand in the interior design industry. Under his leadership, the company has adopted the outsourcing business model, by sourcing vitrified tiles from China. Here’s his take on four questions from Business Line: Two things that my education/training taught me: Survival of the fittest. There is no substitute for hard work. Two things I learnt from my work/ real life: Humility. The more I achieve the more humble I must get. Life itself is a humbling experience. It’s all about relationship building, whether it is with suppliers, buyers or the government. One quality I look for the most in a new recruit: Basic IQ and an open mind. A book that I read recently: The World is Flat, by Thomas L. Friedman.
