Learning comes through failure

Ajay Shankar Sharma

Ajay Shankar Sharma is co-founder and CEO, Srishti Software. A BE in Computer Science from NIT, Tiruchi, Ajay co-founded Srishti in 1997 just six months after completing his engineering. Under his leadership, Srishti was ranked “among the five most promising Indian IT companies,” by Information Week. An active member of Nasscom, he is also the founder member of Nasscom Product Forum started in 2003. Here’s his take on four questions from Business Line:

Two things that my education/training taught me:

Being perceptive.

Value of leadership.

Two things I learnt from my work/real life:

Success brings laurels but learning comes through failure.

Perseverance makes the difference.

One quality I look for the most in a new recruit:

Initiative.

A book that I read recently:

Bangalore Tiger, by Steve Hamm, which gives an in-depth view of the making of Wipro.
