People Columns - 60 Seconds Chief! Try humour to resolve conflicts 
Mr Geoff Magee, Chief Executive Officer, The Accord Metropolitan One teacher I remember, and why: My father…he taught me some excellent values in life. His motto was “believe in yourself first.” One most valuable work lesson, thus far: Determination…till you succeed. One thing I look for the most in a new recruit: Attitude. One thought from a book that I am currently reading: Nothing specific…not had much time recently to read a book. One tip for time management: Time stops for no one. One key thing in my fitness routine: Even if you sleep six hours …sleep well. One signal that tells me there is a problem: The art of ‘intuition’ is something we learn to master. One technique for handling anger: You can’t...either you have it or you don’t. One essential ingredient in my investment portfolio: Commonsense. One good thing about the new generation: Very Very Street Savvy. Smart . One worrying thing about the young: They are burning out too fast. One thing that clinches a deal: Good homework. One definition of values: It starts early in life, evaluated in mid-life, and hopefully never dies with us. One way that I use for resolving conflicts: Humour…it works ..sometimes slowly of course. One favourite activity when travelling: Making new friends. One indicator of performance: Very simple, you always “SEE” it. One macroeconomic variable I keenly watch: Inflation. One dream I’d like to chase, later in life: If I wait to chase dreams later they will never come true! I’ve chased them from the age of five…Many have come true. One good way to foster innovation: Create an environment for people to think for themselves. One clue that tells me I’m the leader: When I see people around me…and also some beside me.
