LIC Ernakulam division has emerged No 1 in the entire south zone in terms of premium collections, as it garnered ₹127 crore in the last fiscal. South zone comprises Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puduchery divisions.

The Ernakulam division also ranks third among all the 113 divisions in terms of growth rate and achievement of premiums.

With this growth momentum, the division is targeting a premium collection of ₹203 crore in FY-17 and is expected to emerge as the No 1 in the entire country, A. Soosai Manickam, Senior Divisional Manager said.

“We will achieve the premium collections target by November itself”, he told reporters on the sidelines of the social security month celebrations. LIC’s pension schemes and single premium endowment policies have well received in the market, eliciting a good response from customers, he added.

The Ernakulam district collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla was the chief guest at the social security month celebrations. He also distributed the claim amount paid under Aam Admi Bima Yojana and Aam Admi Yojana scholarships to students.
