Mastercard has tied-up with Pine Labs, a leading retail Point of Sale (PoS) solution provider, to roll out more than 26,000 contact-less terminals across key merchant stores over the next 12 months.
Powered by Mastercard contact-less technology, the merchants across Quick Service Restaurants , retail stores, cinemas and supermarkets will now be able to offer contact-less terminals as an alternative method of payment to customers, allowing them greater ease and convenience of payments.
The contact-less payments solution will also help merchants build greater efficiency in managing their costs and time by way of reducing check-out time at the counters and costs related to handling of cash. Contact-less payments allow customers to make everyday purchases by simply tapping their contact-less-enabled card or device on a reader.
Kush Mehra, President, Pine Labs, said contact-less payment benefits both merchants and customers in terms of faster and secured check-out and reduced costs.
