Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) has joined hands with Medanta-The Medicity to take forward the mission of TB-free Haryana.
Animesh Chauhan, Managing Director & CEO, OBC, handed over a specially equipped mobile van to Medanta's Founder-Chairman Naresh Trehan in Gurgaon today.
This van is fitted with a digital chest x-ray and CB-NAAT machine and other diagnostic tools.
The districts to be covered in the first phase of the project include Rewari, Gurgaon, Meerut, Palwal and Jhajjhar.
It will visit primary health centres run by the government every day of the week to perform chest x-rays for patients suspected of having pulmonary tuberculosis, Chauhan said.
Trehan said on the occasion that the initiative by OBC and Medanta would fill the gap in screening. With the help of the mobile van, doctors can screen up to 50 people every day.
