YES Bank has chalked out plans to expand its branch banking business aggressively across the country in the next four years, Group President and Regional Director R Ravichander has said.
“We will increase our branch strength to 2,500 by 2020 from the current 900. There will be a considerable increase in business from the current ₹1.65 lakh crore by then,” he told newspersons on the sidelines of an event.
“The bank is only 12 years old and we have a younger workforce (average age is 30). We want to identify ourselves as the professional’s bank of the country,” he said, adding that the bank is all set to launch its credit card, in association with MasterCard, shortly.
Kerala plans Referring to the Kerala market, he said the bank is looking at the possibility of starting an exclusive outlet for start-ups in the State.
Currently, the bank has such a facility in Bengaluru and this will be replicated here. Plans are also afoot to increase its presence in the State to 40 in four years from 13 branches now.
With a customer base of 7,000, the total business from Kerala stands at ₹750-800 crore.
“Steps have been taken up to increase the business three times with a focus on NRI customers, start-ups and the MSME segment,” he said.
