In a bid to widen its financial inclusion programme,Adarsh Credit Co-Operative Society has decided to deploy a mobile phone application to help facilitate banking transactions.
The solution, called ‘SAP Skybase 365’ and created by SAP, will help manage transactions – record deposits and disbursals on a real-time basis – made directly by various business correspondents (called advisors).
According to Priyanka Lodha, Managing Director, Adarsh Credit Co-operative Society, solutions across the mobile platform will be rolled out in a phased-manner on to the business correspondent network.
“The mobile platform, being rolled out in phases, will help widen our financial inclusion programme. It also reduces chances of manual error,” she said.
Set up in 1999 in Rajasthan, Adarsh Credit Co-operative currently has nearly one lakh business correspondents, 750 brick and mortar branches and around 10 lakh members on a pan-India basis.
Till January 2014, it made disbursals of around ₹3,500 crore and had a deposit base of over ₹3,400 crore.
