Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB), sponsored by State Bank of India, has opened 13 new branches taking its total branch network to 768. The new branches are in Khamman, Nalgonda, Warangal (Telangana) and Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. According to V Narasi Reddy, Chairman, APGVB, the Regional Rural Bank (RRB) has linked (seeded) 97 per cent of its active savings bank accounts with Aadhar. “This has placed our bank on top of all RRBs in the country both in terms of number of and percentage,’’Reddy said. Apart from the Direct Benefit Transactions (DBT) like gas subsidy, the customers whose Aadhar numbers are linked with their bank accounts could do banking transactions at any of APGVB’s and other banks’ Bank Mitra points, he added.
