New Delhi, Sept. 25:
LPG distributors across the country will be on strike on October 1. “With the Government’s latest decision on capping LPG cylinders both the consumers and the distributors are suffering. And we issue the ultimatum to the Central Government that if our demands are not met we will soon go on an indefinite strike,” said Pawan Soni, General Secretary, National Federation of LPG Distributors of India.

Comments:
under garb of consumers'distress, the dealers cannot claim they too are sufering. In fact many consumers complaint are against dealers murky dealings in prompt supply. So far as number of cylinders supplied to consumers, the gas companies have computerised records and control supplies through dealers.Hence individual consumers too can now check on the net the number of cylinders supplied against their consumers number. The price at which cylinders are supplied to consumers based on subsidized quota or otherwise is no cause for seeking increased commission. The strike call is an empty threat.
