Australia is set to clear the uranium shipment pact with India, according to South Australia Deputy Premier.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on his journey to Australia later this week, Deputy Premier of South Australia John Rau has said his government is at the final stages of paving the way for shipments of crucial uranium to India for its civil energy needs.
“Finalisation of that (bilateral agreement for uranium shipment) is going on within diplomatic channels,” Rau said.
Australia is a large producer of uranium, accounting for 81 per cent of the total global production of the crucial natural resource.
