A port side container facility of the Container Corporation of India (Concor) has been opened at Krishnapatnam Port.
“With Concor on-board, Krishnapatnam will now be able to ensure a new level of smooth processing, quick turnaround and easy throughput of cargo,’’ Anil Yendluri, CEO, Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd, said in a release here.
The facility is expected to foster trade, boost industrial growth and help in development of the region, he added.
Concor had earlier entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to initiate three Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) in Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam and Kakinada.
The port had already acquired 140 acres at Krishnapatnam for setting up the MMLP and is in the process of acquiring 24 acres more.
