The Tamil Nadu Minister for Highways and Minor Ports, Edapadi Palaniswamy today advocated the death sentence for those found guilty in child sexual abuse cases.
Speaking at a function here, he said those charged with the crime would not be allowed to go on bail and the remand period would be for a minimum period of 30 days. All necessary help would be provided to the victims, he said.
The minister distributed gold thalis worth Rs five crore to 1,800 persons and sewing machines to seven persons under a government scheme.
