The Department of Chemical Engineering of National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) will organise a conference on ‘Risk reduction and disaster management in industries’ on January 20 and 21.
Addressing presspersons in Mangaluru on Friday, G Srinikethan, professor at NITK and chairman of the organising committee of the conference, said the conference would provide a unique forum for engineers, scientists, and policymakers to share technological advances and policies on risk reduction and disaster management in industries.
There will be discussions on the topics such as ‘safety of oil pipelines’ and ‘oil spill management plans’.
