Two-thirds of employees (66 per cent) are worried about job security because of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), says a survey of human resource leaders who attended the National HRM Summit held here recently, organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA).
The survey, held during the summit, was attended by HR leaders from traditional as well as new economy companies. Of those surveyed, 34 per cent did not see AI as a threat to jobs, an AIMA release said. However, 95 per cent admitted that new technologies will change the way employees are managed.
There was a division of opinion on their current ability to deal with leadership challenges created by digital disruption. “While 55 per cent of the respondents believed that HR can creatively tackle executive leadership issues in the age of disruption, 42 per cent were less optimistic,” said AIMA.
A majority of HR leaders agreed it is necessary to help employees learn more about the technological changes impacting the business of the organisation.
The survey also showed that HR leaders trust cloud-based platforms such as Linkedin, Indeed and CareerBuilder, but 37 per cent respondents said they still do not find these platforms useful.
