The Committee for Evolution of New Education Policy has submitted the report containing its recommendations to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, an official statement said.
In October last year, the Ministry had set up a five-member committee headed by former Cabinet Secretary T S R Subramanian to draft the new policy.
Other members on the panel are former Chief Secretary, NCT of Delhi, Shailaja Chandra, former Home Secretary, NCT of Delhi, Sevaram Sharma, former Chief Secretary, Gujarat, Sudhir Mankad, and former Director, NCERT, J S Rajput.
The Ministry had undertaken a consultation process which included online, grassroots and national level thematic deliberations on 33 themes. Online consultations were held from January 26, 2015 to October 31, 2015 and over 29,000 suggestions were received.
The process was also spread across gram panchayats, blocks, urban local bodies and districts of all states/union territories.
