He was delivering a Business Line Club lecture on ‘The scope of international business opportunities for the women exporters’ at the Post-graduate Department of Business Administration, VV Vanniaperumal College for Women, Virudhunagar, near here, sponsored by Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) Ltd , Tuticorin, recently.

Stating that foreign trade is a great boon for ambitious educated women, he cited the fast growing trend all over the world where women exporters were creating records, particularly in the African region, European countries, Australia, the US and Canada. He referred to the website of International World Trade Centre - www.intracen.org and other sites. Women should pursue foreign trade even during the course of their studies, he added.

He also spoke about India’s current position in foreign trade, foreign exchange reserves and various incentives offered by the Government to exporters. There are various organisations ready to provide service for the betterment of traders engaged in international trade. He pointed out that in the current scenario, there was more scope for exporters to get more orders from foreign buyers with advance payment.

This was followed by an inter-action session, where students sought clarifications on various aspects of international trade.

Earlier, N Surendran, Branch Manager, TMB, Virudhunagar, explained the schemes offered by the bank for education and employment and assured students that the bank would assist them in their chosen ventures.
