The first underground rail service of Chennai Metro Rail between Thirumangalam and Nehru Park will be open for public from May 14. This stretch will be extended up to Chennai Central by year-end, said VK Singh, Chief General Manager (Underground), Chennai Metro Rail Ltd.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami along with Union Urban Transport Minister Venkaiah Naidu will together launch the service at Thirumangalam metro station, said another CMRL official.
