P rime Minister Narendra Modi's next 'Mann Ki Baat' radio boadcast will be on Sunday. In previous editions of the programme Modi has addressed various issues, including those of significance to farmers and students. In a tweet Modi said, "I am sure you have a lot of ideas and suggestions for the upcoming 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on (August) 30th."

B ihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad are wooing supporters to make their campaign rally in Patna on Sunday a success. This would be the first big show of unity by the two leaders since they joined hands earlier this year in a bid to defeat the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in the state. S kywatchers are in for a treat this weekend when a supermoon lights up the night sky on Saturday. The term, coined by astrologer Richard Nolle more than 30 years ago, is used to describe a new or full moon that coincides with the moon reaching its closest point to Earth on its orbit. According to astronomers, a new or full moon has to come within 224,834 miles of the Earth to be considered a supermoon.

S ania Mirza will be awarded the Sports Ministry’s Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award on Saturday. The Ministry has decided to go ahead with its original decision to confer the award on the tennis star despite the Karnataka High Court issuing notices to the Government and Mirza over the petition filed by Paralympian HN Girisha, who has challenged the recommendation of the awards selection panel.
