The Government is likely to issue a notification today on extending the deadline for mandatory linking of Aadhaar. On Thursday, the Centre told the Supreme Court that it is willing to extend the deadline from December 31, 2017 to March 31, 2018. This extension will cover 139 services including the linking of Aadhaar with bank accounts.
The UN Security Council will meet today following US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. At least eight of 15 UNSC member countries asked for the special meeting where UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres will address the Council.
President Ram Nath Kovind will present Colour to Submarine Arm of the Indian Navy today. Kovind is on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh. On Thursday, he declared open the Centre for Defence Studies in Andhra University.
Air India will today be inaugurating flight services to connect the ‘Golden Triangle’ circuit. Golden Triangle is a popular tourism circuit connecting Delhi-Jaipur-Agra. The inaugural flight is between Jaipur and Agra.
The Delhi Land Pooling policy is likely to be approved today. Under the policy, around 22,000 hectares of land will be pooled that is likely to benefit nearly 95 lakh people. In the previous meeting on Oct 13, Delhi Lt and Union Urban Development Minister decided to limit the role of DDA to being a facilitator and planner only.
