1) French Defence Minister Jean Yves Le Drian is set to arrive in the Capital on Thursday along with the CEOs of Dassault Aviation, Thales and MBDA to seal the 7.87 billion euro deal for 36 Rafale fighter jets.

2) Sun Pharma has announced plans for a share buyback at a price of Rs 900 per share via the tender offer process. The offer will open on Thursday and close on October 5. The offer, for up to 75 lakh shares, will increase the promoter's shareholding in Sun Pharma marginally to about 55 per cent and cost roughly Rs 675 crore, if fully subscribed.

3) The newly established Goods and Services Tax Council is expected to hold its first meeting in the Capital today. The Council will take all key decisions relating to the indirect tax levy, including rates and exemptions. The Council will be led by the Finance Minister and would include state ministers as members. In addition, the Cabinet has appointed the Revenue Secretary as its ex-officio Secretary and has also approved "inclusion of the Chairperson, Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), as a permanent invitee (non-voting) to all proceedings of the GST Council".

4) A Hyderabad court has posted for Thursday the two bounced cheque cases filed against businessman Vijay Mallya by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. Third Special Court Magistrate M. Krishna Rao on April 20 convicted Mallya, A. Raghunathan, a senior official of Kingfisher Airlines Ltd, in connection with two bounced cheque cases involving Rs. 50 lakh each, under relevant sections of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The matter relates to cheques issued by Kingfisher Airlines Ltd. to GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), which operates Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, towards charges for using the facilities at the airport for Kingfisher Airlines flights.

5) Today is the last for aspirants who wish to appear for CAT 2016 to register. The registrations can be done till 5 pm. on Thursday. CAT 2016 exam will be conducted on December 4, 2016 (Sunday).
