1 The mega sale of mobile frequencies is to open on Saturday. The spectrum auction, originally scheduled for September 29, was deferred by two days on the industry’s request that the auction be held during an auspicious period.

2 India is to ratify the Paris climate agreement on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, following the approval of the Union Cabinet. The approval will take the global greenhouse gas emissions covered by countries that have ratified the agreement so far to 51.89 per cent. The treaty will come into force as and when 55 countries, contributing to 55 per cent of total global emissions, ratify the agreement. So far, 61 countries have deposited their instruments of ratification and acceptance or approval, accounting for 47.79 per cent of the total global greenhouse gas emissions.

3 Come October 1, if you are planning to buy an insurance policy, it will be mandatory for you to have an e-insurance account. Though e-insurance was started two years ago, the accounts have been made mandatory only now. The move is aimed at consolidating your insurance portfolio and also making the claim process easier.

4 Socio-political movement Swaraj Abhiyan -- started by former AAP functionaries, Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Ajit Jha and Anand Kumar -- will launch a political party on October 2. Yadav and Bhushan were expelled shortly after AAP won the 2015 Delhi elections.

5 The Maharashtra government's Mumbai City Surveillance Project (MCSP), comprising 6,000 CCTV cameras, has been completed and will be launched on October 2. L&T bagged the Rs 959-crore contract for securing Mumbai with the CCTV network.
