Farmers f rom all over India will participate in a two-day protest from November 20 under the banner of the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee to demand "better prices for their produce and complete freedom from debt". According to AIKSCC, members of around 180 farmer organisations are expected to participate in the protest. According to the committee, "steady rise in input costs, like fuel, pesticides and fertilisers and even water, and slashing of subsidies by the government" are some of the key factors behind cost versus income imbalance presently being faced by the farmers.

Congress party president Sonia Gandhi has called a Congress Working Committee meet on Monday morning, to notify the schedule for the election of the next president of the Indian National Congress. The move comes after the Election Commission set a deadline of December 31 for the party to complete the process of organisational elections. This notification will clear the decks for the elevation of vice- president Rahul Gandhi as its next president.

The first India-Myanmar bilateral military exercise 2017 willl be held from November 20-25 at Umroi in Meghalaya. The joint exercise is the first of its kind military training exercise on United Nations Peacekeeping Operations between India and Myanmar. The aim of this event is to train the Myanmar delegation for participation in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations under the UN Flag. The exercise includes participation of 15 officers from Myanmar Army and 16 officers from the Indian Army who will jointly train for over a period of six days.

The GST Network will launch a facility for businesses to make changes to their August and September GSTR-3B return forms from November 20. The group of ministers formed to look at the IT problems of the Goods and Services Tax says the system is becoming stable, and this is reflected in the gradual reduction in revenue shortfall from states. The GoM was set up in September, following an outrage over technical glitches in GST implementation. Since then, it has identified a list of glitches and tasked Infosys to set it right on tight timelines.

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is all set to launch the V7 smartphone in India on November 20. The company is sending out media invites for an event to be held in Delhi which features an image of a smartphone sporting an edge-to-edge display. According to a report by GSMarena, the smartphone has already been launched in Indonesia at Rp 3,799,000 (about Rs 18,333), and just like its recently launched sibling V7+, is also a selfie-centric smartphone sporting the same 24MP selfie camera, 16MP rear camera and Full Vision display.
