GoAir will start a second daily non-stop flight connecting Kolkata to Nagpur from July 23.

The new flight will depart from Kolkata at 6.25 am and after a halt at Nagpur, proceed to Mumbai. Similarly, its return is scheduled as a Mumbai-Nagpur-Kolkata flight.

“We are delighted to announce the second flight service from Kolkata to Nagpur within a few weeks of starting our first flight between the two cities. Our decision clearly highlights our commitment to serve West Bengal better and cater to the increasing demand for air connectivity at affordable prices,” Giorgio De Roni, CEO, GoAir, said according to a release issued by the company.

According to De Roni, with the introduction of these new flights, Kolkata has become our fourth key market with almost 9 lakh seats per annum.  “We are seriously evaluating a further enhancement of our presence in the coming months,” he added.

With this, GoAir will have 49 departures each week from Kolkata, with non-stop flights to Ahmedabad, Bagdogra, Delhi, Guwahati, Nagpur and Patna.

Other centres connected by GoAir include Bangalore, Chandigarh, Goa, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Pune, Ranchi and Srinagar.

The daily flight to Port Blair is also set to resume from October 1 after a pause for the monsoons, the company said in a release.
