The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) will organise an international conference on composite materials from December 27 to 29.

“Composites have revolutionised traditional design concepts and made possible an unparalleled range of new and exciting possibilities as viable materials. Composites have wide applications in medicine, space, aircraft, and automotive structures,” Prof Amirtham Rajagopal, Organising Secretary for Composite Materials and Structures (ICCMS 2017), said.

The conference would hold a discussion around recent advances in composite materials and structures. It will explore the role of innovation in developing composite materials.

Over 570 scientists from research and development institutions such as the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Indian Space Research Organisation, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and National Aerospace Laboratories would take part.

“The conference will serve as a platform for academicians, industry, researchers and research students to share views and interact with the eminent people working in the composite field,” a statement from the IIT said.
