Prince William, a trained RAF search and rescue captain, saved a 16-year-old girl from drowning.

The girl was trying to help her 13-year-old sister in the sea off Anglesey Island off the coast of Wales, the Daily Express reported.

The Duke of Cambridge who is known as Flight Lieutenant Wales while at work piloted the Sea King while Master Aircrew Harry Harrison pulled the 16-year-old girl out of the water and winched her to safety yesterday.

“When I got to her the elder girl was clearly exhausted and was going under the water for what was the very last time,” Harry Harrison said.

The girls, from Herefordshire, were swept away by a rip-tide while body boarding during a family holiday.

The girl was reunited with her sister and mother and all three were flown to a hospital in Bangor.

“Two teenage girls were rescued in one of the fastest and shortest search and rescue operations undertaken in recent years by the duty RAF search and rescue helicopter crew from RAF Valley,” the Ministry of Defence was quoted by the paper.
