The Office of Congressman Joe Crowley has held a high-level briefing for senior Congressional staff on the state of US-India relations at the Capitol Hill.

Crowley is Co-Chair of the House Congressional Caucus on India and Indian-Americans, which is one of the largest country specific Congressional caucuses.

In a brief statement, Crowley’s office said that the Deputy Indian Ambassador to the US, Arun Singh, and Rich Verma, the former Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs at the Department of State, led the discussion yesterday.

Topics covered furthering economic growth, improving international security, encouraging civic engagement between the two countries and the importance of protecting the civil rights of the Indian-American community, the statement said, adding that the meeting was attended by dozens of Congressional staff.
