It makes business sense to be compassionate with employees. This was the view expressed by many business leaders at a conference on Compassionate Leadership, organised by the CII and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories here today. The need for compassionate leadership in these times of global uncertainties was stressed by speakers.
Anand Shankar, CEO (Asia-Pacific), Aon Hewitt, said compassion should not been seen as a moral obligation, but as a link with individual. G.V. Prasad, CEO of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, said ethical values lost their importance in today’s corporate world and without these there would be no proper leadership.
Talking about his company, he said every employee in the company was given an opportunity to grow. “We have no dead-end jobs in the company,” he said.
