Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad on Monday afternoon to inaugurate the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2017 in Gandhinagar.

During his two-day stay in the State, the Prime Minister will interact with 60-odd global and Indian CEOs over a round-table meeting on Tuesday, to be accompanied by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

Also, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Nobel prize exhibition - first such event during the 8-editions of the Vibrant Summits, in the presence of 9 Nobel prize winners from science and medicine field. The five-week long exhibition is being seen as one of the high points of the summit. Nobel laureates will interact with students, scientists, industry leaders and policymakers.

In the later part of the day, Modi will inaugurate the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)'s international exchange - India International Exchange (India INX) at GIFT City.

The opening ceremony of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, when heads and representatives of the governments from over 20 countries will be present besides the presence of large number of businessmen and captains of the industry.

Close to a dozen of the Union Ministers from the Government of India, including Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, and Power Minister Piyush Goyal, will also attend the summit.

Modi will also kick-start the revamp project for Gandhinagar railway station at a cost of Rs 250 crore. The project will include setting up of a hi-tech 300-room five-star hotel.
