BJP members have written to Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, asking ONGC to name offshore field Mumbai High, ‘the single most valuable asset controlled by the Government of India’, after Veer Savarkar. “…request you to please direct ONGC to name their flagship Mumbai Offshore oil and gas fields, located in his home State Maharashtra, after Amar Shaheed Veer Savarkar. There will be no change of name involved as such. The fields can be just be named Veer Savarkar Mumbai Offshore,” said a letter from BJP spokesperson Narendra Taneja.
