The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, has exhorted the district collectors to strive to achieve 15 per cent growth rate and 80 per cent satisfaction level among people over the performance of State Government.

At the district collectors' conference here on Wedensday, he said the State had achieved 11.72 growth rate against 5.6 per cent at all-India level in the first quarter of 2017-18. He said officials should work hard to achieve 80 per cent satisfaction level among people against the present 58 per cent.

Stating that the State Government had achieved stability in agriculture sector by registering a growth of 27.60 in the first quarter of 2017-18, the Chief Minister said technology should be used in a big way in the sector.

He said AP was the number one in aquaculture and horticulture. The State Government is planning to develop horticulture in one crore acre against the present 40 lakh acres.

Referring to the industrial sector, the Chief Minister said that there was low growth rate in the sector. He said that the growth rate in industrial sector stood at 22 per cent and manufacturing sector 8.95 per cent. He said that MSMEs should be encouraged in a big way. He asked the district collectors to focus on industrial development by adopting best practices.

Krishna district stood first in rating based on performance followed by West Godavari, Guntur and Vizianagaram during the first quarter of 2017-18.
