Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB) will be setting up 76 Aadhaar enrolment centres in the two Telugu states. Out of these, 50 will be in Telangana, while 26 will come up in Andhra Pradesh constituting 10 per cent of APGVB's branch network.
This facility will also useful for customers to either apply for a new card or get the existing cards modified where necessary. About 150 officials have been identified to supervise the Aadhaar centres to be set up within the identified branches. As part of this exercise, the bank has conducted a training programme for these officials.
"With the support of State Bank of India, our sponsor bank, a technology service provider has been identified who will set up Aadhaar enrolling machines for this purpose,’’ V Narasi Reddy, Chairman, APGVB, said in a release.
Following the guidelines from the Government of India for ensuring 100 per cent Aadhaar linking to the bank account before 31.3.2018, APGVB is all set to extend the Aadhaar enrolling service to the public.
