Eminent writer C Radhakrishnan has been selected for the Mathrubhumi Literary Award in recognition of his contribution to the field of literature.
The award carries a cash prize of ₹ 2 lakh, a citation and a statuette.
Radhakrishnan was selected by a panel chaired by novelist M Mukundan with Sethu and Sarah Joseph being the other members of the jury, Mathrubhumi Managing Director M P Veerendra Kumar and Managing Editor P V Chandran said in a statement here today.
Recipient of several honours, including the Literary Academy of India, Kerala Literary Academy, Radhakrishnan has proved his mettle in various capacities as novelist, short story writer, cine director, teacher and media personnel.
He was born in Chamravattom in Ponnani taluk in Malappuram district on February 15, 1939. Many of his works had garnered much attention at the publishing stage itself, the statement said.
