The 15th edition of Agri Intex 2015 will be held between July 17 and 20 at the Codissia Trade Fair grounds.
The agricultural trade fair, jointly organised by Codissia and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), is supported by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Sugarcane Breeding Institute, All India Agricultural Implements Manufacturers Association and Progressive Dairy Farmers Association. Around 300 participants will be taking part in the event including those from other States and countries such as Italy, Israel, Japan, France and Germany.
Briefing newsmen, K Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU, said the proposed event envisions to transform Indian agriculture. “Resources such as water and land are shrinking and farm labour is scarce. In such a scenario, farming practices are not only becoming hi-tech but has to be sustained as well. A good number of youngsters are evincing interest in farming. This expo therefore, will provide a platform for those looking at newer avenues for growth in agriculture.”
