In the reactor blast at Sainor LifeSciences Pvt Ltd, two workers were killed and at least five others were injured.
The accident occurred around noon on Monday in the unit located in JN Pharma City at Parvada, about 35 km from the city. The injured were first rushed to a local hospital for treatment and then to bigger corporate hospitals.
Sainor LifeSciences manufactures bulk drugs and intermediates in its pharma unit. There was heavy smoke emanating from the unit for sometime. Fire tenders were rushed in from Anakapalle and Vizag to control the fire.
