India will play arch-rivals Pakistan in their third and final Super 4 match on Saturday. A clinical India have maintained their unbeaten run in the tournament with a 6-2 thrashing of Malaysia in their second Super 4 match of the 10th men’s Asia Cup here today. The win has propelled India to the top of Super 4 stage after they drew 1-1 against Korea in their first Super 4 stage match.

Ghana will take on Mali in an all—African quarterfinal of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Guwahati on Saturday. Ghana had been beaten 1-0 by Mali in the final of the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, and they would be determined to avenge that loss. In the other quarter final on Sunday, October 22, Germany will take on Brazil in a big-ticket quarterfinal match of the FIFA U—17 World Cup in Kolkata on Sunday. Seeking their fourth title, Brazil have been living up to the expectations by winning all their group matches and they just brushed aside the challenge of Honduras with an overwhelmingly dominating display in the pre-quarterfinal clash. The Germany senior team may have won the World Cup four times, but the Under-17 World Cup side is yet to win one with its best finish coming way back in 1985 when it ended runners-up.

Millions of Japanese voters will head to the polls in the world's third biggest economy. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has called for a snap election, seeking a mandate to stick to his tough stance towards a volatile North Korea and rebalance the social security system. A typhoon is expected to lash Japan on Sunday with heavy rains which may impact turnout. Turnout had declined to below 60 per cent in the last two general elections. The last election in December 2014 saw a record-low rate of 52.66 per cent.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will arrive in Bangladesh for the India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission meeting. The Minister is likely to meet the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka. Rohingya crisis and Teesta river water sharing are likely to be top on the agenda.

The three match New Zealand vs India one-day international series will kick off in Mumbai on Sunday. On Friday, India lost their numero uno status in ICC ODI rankings to South Africa following the Proteas’ win over Bangladesh in the second match of the ongoing series. But India have a chance to reclaim their top spot if they win the ODI series against New Zealand.
