Over 200 firms will get delisted by the BSE today as trading in these shares have remained suspended for over a decade. The move comes at a time when authorities are clamping down on shell companies — listed as well as unlisted -- for allegedly being used as conduits for illicit fund flows.

Postal employees will stay away from work today to protest against the non-implementation of benefits suggested by the Gramin Dak Sevaks committee. The National Federation of Postal Employees represents around 4 lakh workers.

The bypoll to the Bawana Assembly seat in Delhi will be held today. Both the AAP and the BJP have pulled out all stops to ensure victory. The Bawana seat fell vacant in March after AAP MLA Ved Prakash jumped ship to the BJP just before the municipal elections in April.

Samsung Electronics will launch its much awaited Galaxy Note 8 at an event in New York. The Note 8 is expected to sport a curved screen that is marginally larger than the 6.2-inch version of the Galaxy S8 smartphone and feature two rear cameras.

Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will arrive in New Delhi. He will hold wide-ranging talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on issues of mutual interest. Deuba, who will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, will also call on the President and the Vice-President. During his four-day visit, Deuba will also travel to Hyderabad, Tirupati and Bodh Gaya.
