The Supreme Court will hear the appeal of Unitech challenging the NCLT order. Last week, the NCLT suspended the company's 10 directors citing mismanagement and diversion of funds. Also, It allowed the government to appoint the replacements (directors) to run the company.

In Uttar Pradesh, the newly elected mayors and chairpersons of municipalities will take oath today. Of the 16 mayors, 14 are from BJP and two from BSP. In the municipality chairman posts, BJP won the maximum in 70 places, SP in 45 places, BSP in 29 places, Congress in nine places and independents in 43 places. Swearing-in of Lucknow mayor Sanyukta Bhatia will be attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

NCP president Sharad Pawar will take part in a rally against the BJP-led government in Maharashtra. The rally is being organised by the opposition Congress and the NCP, which have accused the BJP-led ruling coalition of “neglecting” issues related to farmers and common people. Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will also participate in the rally.

India and Australia will hold its first 2+2 dialogue in Delhi. Foreign and Defence secretaries of both the countries will hold meetings to enhance cooperation in maritime security and cyber security. The meet comes a day ahead of the trilateral meet between India, Japan and Australia.

Volvo will launch its XC60 model in India today. The luxury SUV will compete with the likes of Audi Q5 and BMW X3. The XC60 is likely to be among the cars to be assembled at the company's Bengaluru plant.
