Elections to the Uttar Pradesh civic body will be held today. Polling in 24 districts, including for mayoral posts, would be held from 7 am to 5 pm amid tight security in phase one of the elections. The remaining phases would be held on November 26 and 29, and the counting of votes for all the phases would be completed on December 1. The results would be declared on the same day.

The Delhi High Court will hear a plea challenging the Election Commission's November 17 order granting JD(U)'s official symbol Arrow to Nitish Kumar's faction. The plea has been filed by an MLA from the Sharad Yadav faction of Janata Dal (United).
