The eighth international wheat seminar on the theme of “New Ideas and Innovation for Growth” will be inaugurated on Sunday in Goa.
Around 300 delegates from the wheat and wheat based industries are expected to participate in this global seminar.
The seminar would provide an opportunity for exchange of ideas and information among stakeholders in different segments concerning wheat industry and allied sectors. An exhibition and display of various wheat products would go to showcase the growth of the industry.
The international wheat seminar is expected to be a forum to discuss and find solutions for the various challenges faced by the Indian wheat industry in the global market. The issues of taxes, policy decisions, the attitude of the authorities and public distribution system would be discussed at the seminar.
"Wheat is one of the cereal crops that provide major staple food requirements of people. We have a commitment to provide food and nutrition security, assist in fighting poverty and initiate to share value with the stakeholders for a sustainable development of the industry commensurate with the ever changing environment,” Said Raj Kapoor, MD, Assocom-India.
