The Karnataka Tourism Department and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) are to offer customised local sightseeing trips in and around Bengaluru city.

City Tour packages include a ‘Bengaluru-Nandi Tour’ and a ‘Wildlife of Bengaluru’ package to the Nandi Hills and Bannerghatta Biological Park with Jungle safari.

Besides, KSTDC is also offering various outstation detours of multiple days, including Bengaluru-Mysuru-Madikeri and back, Bengaluru-Ooty via Mysuru, Bengaluru-Hampi via Chitradurga and Bengaluru-Shravanbelagola-Belur-Halebeedu and back. Depending on the size of the group of tourists, customers can book sedans or SUVs. The bookings need to be done at least two days in advance so as to enable proper car and guide support for the tour.

The bookings for these tours can be made through the KSTDC’s official website www.kstdc.co

The customised local sightseeing trips have been designed to popularise pre-defined destinations by car/ SUV/ MUV. KSTDC has, for the first time, also launched an initiative to run the city tours, on pilot basis, by introducing Bengaluru Detours at affordable rates, in association with Ola.

“It is going to be a fully customised and curated tour, guests would be picked up at their doorsteps and the tour guides, refreshments and lunch are included in the package,” said Minister for Tourism, Priyank Kharge.

While applauding this initiative of the Department of Tourism and KSTDC, Kharge said it is is for the first time that the KSTDC has taken the initiative to bring tourism to the doorsteps of tourists and would help them plan their trips well, choose the most suitable package and experience the curated tour, which would add value to their holiday.
